Myke’s passion for construction started early in life, growing up immersed in his family’s construction business. Following his start in the trades and consulting, Myke has built a career spanning 15 years at PCL, moving through the ranks across Canada, with senior management positions including operations manager in Winnipeg, and most recently as district manager overseeing PCL’s operations in the Regina and southern Saskatchewan region.
Myke now rounds out the three-person Toronto District management team, reporting to Geoff Howe, senior vice president and district manager, and working alongside Monique Buckberger, vice president and district manager.
In 2007, Myke joined PCL as a project coordinator in Edmonton Buildings. With a focus on team building and operational efficiency, Myke has overseen delivery of some of PCL’s most notable projects including the Royal Aviation Museum in Winnipeg, and ICE District’s Stantec Tower and Sky Residences in Edmonton, considered the tallest building in Canada outside of Toronto. He’s gained diverse expertise across Alberta and Manitoba on such projects as the Anthony Henday Drive Interchange and the Wawanesa North American Headquarters at True North Square in Winnipeg.
As the executive sponsor of PCL Toronto’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team, mentoring and creating opportunities for emerging leaders, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion are near and dear to his heart. Equally important to building projects, Myke is passionate about lending a hand to local causes, engaging with charities and providing support to make the communities in which we live, work and play a better place for all. Recently, Myke supported the YWCA Centre for Women and Families project in Regina, providing leadership during fundraising and project visioning for a facility that will house and shelter those fleeing domestic violence or experiencing homelessness.
With a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Alberta, Myke is a professional engineer, certified through the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, as well as being LEED AP certified. In 2014, Myke was selected as the winner of PCL’s prestigious Robert Stollery Construction Leadership Award, given to one person per year who models excellence and inspiration for all, and attended PCL’s coveted Peter Greene Leadership Course that same year. Never afraid of challenging the process, Myke is known for being a solution provider at heart and displays interest in learning and developing in all aspects of the business.
