Just two days after graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Ragan Bryce began his construction career at PCL as a field engineer in the Civil Infrastructure Division. "I initially majored in civil engineering," says Bryce. "But after working for a contractor to support myself through school, I discovered that I preferred the hands-on aspect of construction, so I switched my focus."
Now, over two decades later, Bryce is a seasoned construction professional with a wealth of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. As a construction manager, he leads project teams, including on a water reclamation facility project in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bryce has a deep passion for these projects, understanding the critical importance of access to clean water. Additionally, his extensive and diverse background makes him an ideal leader for these complex projects.
Throughout his career at PCL, Bryce has taken on various roles, from field positions to project management, preconstruction and business development. "PCL has helped me become a well-rounded construction professional," says Bryce. "I've had the opportunity to work in different roles, both in the field and on the business side." Between managing major projects, Bryce worked as an estimator to gain a better understanding of the preconstruction phase. "Thanks to the opportunities PCL has provided, I know what it takes to manage a construction project from the pursuit phase through closeout," says Bryce. "This builds confidence and trust with my team and clients. I doubt I would have had the same opportunities elsewhere."
For Bryce, PCL is more than just a job; it's a community. "When I first joined PCL right out of college, it was for the steady paycheck," Bryce says. "But I quickly realized there was much more to the company. I love the culture here – there's a strong family feel that has only grown stronger over time."
Outside of his work in the field, Bryce leads the Accelerated Superintendent Development (ASD) program for the Civil Infrastructure Division , mentoring promising field employees. His journey at PCL is a testament to his dedication, passion, and the supportive environment that PCL fosters.
