Edmonton, Alberta (March 17, 2023) – PCL’s Edmonton area employees’ fundraising efforts were recognized at the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region’s annual Red Tie Gala Awards of Distinction at the Edmonton Event Centre.

PCL’s 2022 United Way committee was on hand as the company received the following accolades:

·         Award of Excellence: Presented to organizations who raised more than $1 million during the 2022 campaign season.

·         Campaign Committee of the Year: Presented to the committee for its innovation, teamwork and enthusiasm in the promotion and execution of its 2022 campaign.

·         Outstanding Committee Member of the Year Award: Julie Banke and Wendy Ferbey received this award for their exceptional commitment to making our campaign a success.

“This year, we made a commitment to Love Local because we really do love this city and the Alberta capital region,” said Alison Tucker, our 2022 United Way Campaign chair. “It’s so heartwarming and inspirational to attend the Red Tie Gala and hear what others are doing to support United Way. It’s great to see everyone share that local love as we support those in our community who need it the most.”

PCL raised over $2 million in the Alberta Capital Region with our latest local campaign and collectively raised $5.1 million for United Way across our company’s footprint.

The annual Red Tie Gala celebrates and recognizes the hard work and community spirit witnessed and delivered during the previous year’s fundraising campaign. The event also honours recipients of the Awards of Distinction, recognizing those exceptional individuals and groups who embrace the notion that ordinary people have the potential to achieve extraordinary impact.
