Edmonton, Alberta (April 4, 2025) – PCL Construction received two Awards of Distinction from United Way of the Alberta Capital Region at the annual Red Tie Gala event. This is in recognition of PCL’s fundraising efforts during 2024. PCL’s latest campaign, titled To Boldly Give, raised more than $2.47 million dollars in support of Edmonton communities.
To Boldly Give was inspired by the intergalactic adventures of the Star Trek franchise and took PCL on a three-week fundraising journey featuring games, events, and competitions to inspire employees to consider the myriad forms that giving boldly can take.
“This year, we saw an opportunity to broaden the conversation about giving to recognize that giving boldly can take many different forms,” PCL campaign Chair, Jamie Feuffel says. “Whether you’re giving money, time, skills, attention, or an unused jacket, every act of giving can be just as impactful as any other to our communities.”
The annual Red Tie Gala celebrates and recognizes the hard work and community spirit witnessed and delivered during the previous year’s fundraising campaign. The event also honours recipients of the Awards of Distinction, recognizing those exceptional individuals and groups who embrace the notion that ordinary people have the potential to achieve extraordinary impact. PCL received two awards at this year’s gala:
- The Award of Excellence
- Campaign Committee of the Year - More than 1,000 Employees
Overall, PCL collectively raised $6.5 million for United Way across our company’s footprint in 2024.
