The Anvil Centre is a signature development in the heart of New Westminster that combines a multiuse civic facility with a commercial office tower. The 95,000-square-foot, four-story civic center occupies the entire lower building podium, which supports the 137,000-square-foot, nine-story office tower above.

The facility is the culmination of many different user groups and consultants working together to develop a space that meets the needs of many.

The civic center is the jewel of the development, featuring a 364-seat performance theatre, as well as a 60-foot open atrium intertwined with a variety of walkways, balconies, offices and outdoor areas.

The office tower is a separate entity with independent mechanical systems and elevators but seamlessly integrates aesthetics and functionality.

We carefully designed the exterior geometry and finishes to provide a contemporary appearance while harmonizing aesthetically with surrounding heritage buildings. A combination of natural limestone and modern glazing helped achieve this goal.
