Phillips 66 demonstrated its commitment to greener oil production with its Biodiesel Blending facility at its Richmond, California plant. Biodiesel is a green alternative for diesel fuel made from renewable materials.
This facility focuses on the midstream stage of the oil production process. Working on a facility in this stage of the process was a first for us, but we were up for the challenge and performed all the construction disciplines required including civil, concrete, structural, mechanical and electrical work. This included work on three storage tanks, shipping pumps, an electrical upgrade and a loading truck rack expansion. Up against rocky soil and underground obstructions, we worked with Phillips to prioritize which tasks could be performed out of sequence and implemented an accelerated schedule, so that we could continue on schedule with minimal delays.
