It’s hard to imagine a sewer system blending in within a community, but the Bridgeview Pump Station is successfully doing just that. We designed the pump station’s control building to resemble a single-family home.
Adjacent to the control building is the facility’s underground fiber-reinforced polymer wet well. The area’s high-water table and tidal movements also required a large cofferdam.
With its home base set, it was time to extend the network of sewer mains across the community. Three deep connections were constructed by directional drilling, while the remaining mains were installed by conventional trenching.
In total, the sewer system has more than 200 service connections tying the community to the main pump station.
