This new building recreates Edmonton’s original 1929 Capitol Theatre and provides a year-round 243-seat entertainment venue for local drama, theatre and music.

To meet the client’s vision of achieving historical authenticity, PCL combined traditional construction methods with Building Information Modeling. The project team used clash detection as a look-ahead tool to pre-identify possible challenges to avoid rework during construction.

The completed facility includes state-of-the-art 4-D visual fixtures, furniture and equipment features, and provides those visiting Fort Edmonton Park with a 15-minute historical walk-through of Edmonton’s history.
