The Mosaic Company, the world’s leading producer of phosphate-based crop nutrients and one of Florida’s largest landowners, had a vision of showcasing the potential of previously mined land while creating needed job opportunities. The result of this commitment to environmental and economic sustainability is Streamsong Resort, a luxury golf, spa, and nature-based retreat nestled within 16,000 acres between Tampa and Orlando in rural Polk County, Florida. The award winning Streamsong Resort includes a three-story golf clubhouse and a six-story, 305,000-square-foot lodge. The lodge features 228 luxury guest rooms, a conference center, a full-service spa, a lakeside infinity pool, fine and casual dining restaurants and a rooftop bar.

The remote site was a significant distance to the nearest town and grabbing a quick lunch was a minimum of ninety minutes from the workday. To alleviate the burden of lost time and create comradery around the site, we purchased a deep freezer and BBQ grill and cooked lunches for all parties on site regularly. The teams’ strong working relationships reflect in the finished quality of Streamsong Resort, which was recognized by Engineering News-Record’s as the 2014 National Best of the Best Projects winner in the Residential/Hospitality category.
