In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nordic PCL’s Special Projects division renovated the fifth floor of the Queen’s Medical Center’s West Oahu Hospital to include 28 new medical surgical bed units and three isolation rooms, all within a one-year turnaround. Queen’s Medical Center is the largest private non-profit hospital in Honolulu, and Nordic PCL has a strong history with them, building over 25 projects for the medical center. The renovation allowed Queen’s Medical Center to increase the capacity of those needing treatment who were dealing with the virus while also serving the needs of the west side of Oahu.
