Trent Johnson's competitive drive is fueled by the satisfaction of helping clients turn their visions into reality or solve challenging problems. His career at PCL exemplifies his dedication to building purposeful community spaces.

Trent’s passion for construction was inspired by watching his father’s hard work in the industry. After graduating from North Dakota State University, he began his career at a small construction firm, where he spent four years honing his skills. His journey with PCL began shortly thereafter, leading him through a series of leadership roles: 18 years in preconstruction and estimating, four years as operations manager, and ultimately, district manager.

For over 30 years, PCL has strongly committed to supporting Indigenous construction opportunities and fostering community engagement. Trent honors this legacy by working with Native American-owned construction enterprises and volunteering at community events. His efforts strive to create lasting, positive impacts within Indigenous communities. Additionally, his commitment is reflected in his membership with the International Gaming Association (IGA) and its Minnesota branch (MIGA).

As a member of the Minnesota chapter of the Association of General Contractors (AGC), Trent represents PCL in advocating for the interests of general contractors. “When we negotiate, it’s as a collective group, with AGC embodying the team mentality,” he explains. Looking ahead, Trent plans to deepen his involvement with AGC to further influence the industry and its impact on the community.

Early in his career, success meant personal achievements in leadership and winning projects. Today, Trent measures success by the improvements he brings to his district and the surrounding communities. “I want to leave these districts in a better place,” he says.

His dedication to nurturing communities through PCL Construction projects combined with his hometown ties to North Dakota emphasizes his vision for a more connected future.
