DENVER - April 21, 2025 - PCL Construction is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as a finalist in the 2025 Manufacturing Leadership Awards for its outstanding achievement in Engineering and Production Processes. The awards recognize operational and leadership excellence as part of the industry’s journey to digital manufacturing. Finalists in this category embrace new design and production approaches to drive game-changing process improvements. PCL’s project, “Evolution of Model Data-Driven Planning,” leverages artificial intelligence technology to transform the planning and production process for manufacturing and industrial projects.

“By developing digital models coupled with AI, logistics and scheduling, we increased efficiencies in construction labor, lowered costs and were able to better utilize Lean planning tools to route materials and facilitate work planning,” said Andrew Ahrendt, national director of manufacturing for PCL. “Our submission shows how this model-based 3D and 4D process optimized layout, improved routing and enhanced visualization. The results were improved project timelines, increased worker efficiencies, improved safety and quality and lower costs on our projects.”

PCL Construction will be recognized along with all other award finalists at the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, which will take place on June 18, 2025. The gala is the closing event for Rethink: Accelerating Digital Transformation in Manufacturing.
