Seattle’s Link Light Rail is a rapid transit system that serves the metropolitan area and carries over 24 million passengers annually. With a goal of connecting more people to more places to make life better, Sound Transit contracted PCL to build section C755, which connects the city of Seattle to Tukwila with approximately one mile of guideway structure at-grade and approximately five miles of elevated guideway structure. The project also included one station with a park-and-ride facility, roadway intersection, and roadway corridor modifications.
Coordination with Sound Transit was imperative throughout the project as C755 paralleled major highway corridors for six miles and traversed over 25 roads, including Interstate 5. Through close collaboration with Washington State Department of Transportation, the City of Tukwila, City of SeaTac and the City of Seattle’s public transportation departments, we ensured minimal impact on the roadways, crossings, and those traveling on the affected roadways.
Those traveling using the light rail system can now enjoy safe travels between Seattle, SeaTac and Tukwila, Washington.
