Mall of America’s M&M development is like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory® in real life and is complete with a 360°-view glass elevator. Located near the mall’s amusement park, careful consideration was taken to control noise and dust from the façade demolition and Nickelodeon park concrete floor demolition. We set up scaffolding and wrapped poly to provide a safe working space while also containing construction dirt and dust.  

Chocolate should never go to waste, and neither should building materials. We reused a significant amount of existing supplies throughout the project, including casework, shelving and the existing escalators. By relocating and reusing materials, the project did its part to reduce overall construction waste.
