Renowned as one of the nation's foremost collegiate venues, the Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion underwent a transformative renovation and expansion from 2010 to 2012. Entrusted with this prestigious project, PCL embarked on a comprehensive overhaul, enhancing every facet of the multipurpose facility to elevate its stature and functionality.

The scope of the renovation encompassed a spectrum of crucial upgrades, including the reconfiguring of the seating arrangement to introduce over 1,000 new seats and implementing a state-of-the-art retractable seating system on the lower level. Infrastructure enhancements included the overhaul of life safety systems, restroom facilities, concessions areas, entrances and exterior facades to meet modern standards of convenience and accessibility.  Construction also incorporated a new interior concourse, seamlessly integrating into existing athletic facilities to meet the needs of both athletes and spectators.  To accommodate the growing demands of events and activities, 57,000 square feet of space was added, bringing the facility to 235,000 square feet The result was a modernized and upgraded arena with improved amenities and facilities for fans and athletes alike.

With an illustrious history, including 11 NCAA Division 1 men's college basketball championships, UCLA sought a facility that not only exemplified its dedication to athletic prowess but also provided a dynamic experience extending beyond sports. Integral to this vision was the integration of cutting-edge technology, encompassing advanced lighting, sound systems, a 360-degree LED display and a contemporary scoreboard to fully immerse spectators in the excitement of the event. The Pavilion Club is a pinnacle of luxury, accommodating up to 300 guests with bespoke food and beverage service, elevating the venue's atmosphere and exclusivity.

Prioritizing the enhancement of athletic performance, the project included upgrades to athletics facilities and strategic acoustic treatments aimed at optimizing both athlete capabilities and event audio quality. The introduction of a Pedway System offers patrons seamless access to essential services through an elevated pathway, fostering operational efficiency and ensuring the safety of all attendees. Through effective systems integration, various technologies and utilities were unified, ensuring smooth operations for the Pavilion in both major events and daily activities.

Beyond its sporting prestige, the Pauley Pavilion remains a cornerstone of cultural and academic life on campus. Its versatility is showcased through a myriad of events, spanning from political debates to live concerts. The revitalization of the Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion offers a world-class facility that caters to the diverse needs and aspirations of UCLA's community and beyond.
