PCL served as the general contractor for the construction of a new valet parking garage at the Ritz-Carlton, Naples beach resort. The new garage is a three-story precast structure with 232-spaces and architectural elements including a rooftop trellis system and green screen facade. The project included associated site work which adds 54 additional outdoor parking spaces as well as the integration of the garage’s new parking control system with existing hotel operations.

During permitting, PCL discovered that the rerouting of utilities and transformer installation as planned could result in interruptions to resort operations and unnecessary costs for the client. In order to maintain the project schedule, PCL implemented a phased permit approach to begin site development, foundations and underground utility installation. In coordination with the electrical subcontractor, PCL provided the design team a solution that shifted the utility routing and transformer location to a more suitable area. All changes were reviewed and approved by the design team and were incorporated into a revised set of drawings for permit approval. PCL’s quick action minimized schedule impacts while eliminating unnecessary costs and operational disruptions for the owner.
